The principal activity in all of STREAMS is sharing the message of Jesus. There’s no better way to do this than by training local church leaders to proclaim and embody that Word to their people. Thus, leadership training is our greatest priority. Whatever we do in terms of development must be done in a way so that the Word of God is proclaimed and people drawn into a relationship with Him. Thus, our missionary team works closely with our leaders from more than 70 churches both in the villages on a weekly basis and in large quarterly formations teaching them the Word of God, church ministry, and practical life.
Our ultimate goal is that as the Word of God is presented by local native speakers, the church will be built up in unity, maturity, and the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-13). Trained and equipped through systematic theology and relevant practical topics, these leaders will then be able to teach others following the example of the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 2:2 “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” As the Gospel is preached in new villages, and new churches are born, so will new leaders emerge to carry on the torch of the Word of God.
